Do we love dogs more than we love women?
When Mike Tyson went to jail for raping a young woman, I recall some women making comments such as, “Who knows what really happened, she probably deserved it”; “Why was she goofing around with Mike? What did she expect?” “Goofing bastard, I’m glad he is going to jail” These were just some of the comments. What continues to shock me today is that I heard too many women siding with Mike or at least confused about the whole fiasco. Was there anything to confused about a man raping a woman?
As a result of the rape charges Mike was sentenced and did his time in prison. More shocking to me was that Mike then became bigger than ever before and made more millions in his next two fights following his time jail after the rape case. Both men and women welcomed Mike back to boxing and his followers grew larger than ever.
Short and sweet, both men and women had no problem allowing Mike to box again after he had raped a young beautiful woman (should I have included the word “allegedly”?). It does not matter at this point in time – the fact is that he was convicted for raping a young beautiful woman and did time in jail.
Now, let’s take a look at Michael Vick’s case. The brilliant, young quarterback had more than a few dogs (dogs folks, dogs) fighting and we all know the rest: Convicted and did his time in jail. Now, no one wants to give this (still) young man a second chance. Has giving Americans a second chance died in America? I don’t know… Please just ask yourself this simple question.
America gave Mike Tyson more than a second chance after having raped a woman and Michael Vick has no chance in life now after having a few dogs trained to fight and actually fight (if those videos are real; who knows). So, are we more in love with dogs than with women? Again, do we love our dogs more than our women? Please FB family, help me understand this one because I am struggling all by myself…
